Painting Party Fundraiser
We had a wonderful turn out last night for our “Painting Party Fundraiser” for the library. Our painting instructor, Jolene Haller, with Gallery On The Go did a fantastic job with our group and we look forward to working with her again in the future. Thanks to everyone who joined us for a night of painting fun and to support the library!!
Fizz, Boom, Read! Summer Reading Program!
We are half ways through our summer reading program and it has been fantastic. This year the program is split into 2 age groups which we have found to work really well. On Tuesdays we have the younger group (Pre-kindergarten through going into 2nd grade) and on Thursdays we have the older group (going into 3rd through going into 6th grade). Each group has had roughly around 25+ students each week!!
We enjoy reading each week, learning and finding our creative side! One of the kids favorite weeks was seeing the chrysalis that our caterpillars had formed and then coming back the following week to find painted lady butterflies!!
Please stop in to visit the library and see the kids creativity on display! Kathy will be sure to also help you find a wonderful book to check out!
Continue to follow our website for pictures of the older group!!
Passing the Olympic Torch

Hankinson Post Mistress is passing the Olympic Torch to Mayor Joe O’Meara at the Opening Ceremonies
The Flame Has Arrived
On Feb 6th, 2014 The Olympic Torch arrived from Greece to Hankinson, ND. To help transport the flame, Mayor Joe O’Meara and Sister Ann Marie met with our Torch Bearer Post Mistress. The flame was then delivered to the Library with help from Pastor Moline and his girls Ella and Claire. Pat Spinks and Carol St. Laurent lit the cauldron to keep the Olympic Spirit burning during our Olympics.
Kids from Story Hour had a chance to send their Olympic Athlete skiing down the “mountain”. Spectators were thrilled with their skills.
A clever craft project from Stacy Mauch helps decorate our Olympic Arena.
Stop in and help our Olympic Athletes participate. Bobsledding and Ski Jumping will be held soon.
Go USA.
First Book Club

Book club members gather on January 21, 2014 to discuss The Orphan Train
Tuesday January 21 was an amazing day for me. As a book lover I had a great experience talking about Orphan Train. So many ideas and feelings.
As a librarian I was thrilled beyond belief. All these folks talking about one book. Sharing feelings and insights. What a great way to start a book club.
Join us every Tuesday at 2 PM for a great book experience. Jan. 28th we will share information about our favorite book of all times. Thanks Kathy
